The AcuPro® system used in our new and improved Acumat® makes it the only health & fitness surface designed to create both a comfortable AND therapeutic surface for your body. While regular exercise mats are designed to cushion your body during workouts they do not provide any therapeutic effect. The contoured surface allows space for your spine and "bony bits" to comfortably roll over or lay on while massaging your muscles into a relaxed state.

EXERCISE & RECOVERY

Whether you use it during yoga, pilates and core strength training, or barefoot weight training and acro-balance, the AcuPro® system will help relax tight muscles while improving co-ordination and circulation throughout your entire body.

If you find the contours too full on for your sensitive skin, then just turn it upside down to create a cushioned surface that distorts to the curves of your body, keeping you comfortable on concrete or hard wood floors.

How It Works

The AcuPro® Acupressure System

AcuPro® products are made to improve your exercise and recovery experience by releasing trigger points and "knots" in muscles, whilst improving circulation and mobility in joints - Give yourself a boost in performance by practicing your regular pilates, yoga, kettle bell or rehab routine on the Acumat® for maximal co-ordination development via the active surface that challenges your stability and proprioceptive pathways.

The contoured design assists the relaxation of muscles, and improves circulation via acupressure (passive ischaemic pressure), much like getting a massage for the "knots" in your muscles the Acumat® is our key product for helping you achieve the quickest recovery possible after training, or to act a training aid for sporting events.

The primary mechanism of the AcuPro® design is the stimulation of muscles triggers nerve cells called "muscle spindles" which are mechanoreceptors that tell your brain how much tension is running through the muscle tissue, the brain tells the muscle to "relax" which then allows more circulation of blood, oxygen and electrolytes to the muscle cells which releases the "knots" to restore optimal muscle tone.

The brain and central nervous system then reacts to the stimulus of the acupressure by telling the muscle fibres to reduce the tension, which increases circulation of blood via reactive hyperaemia, where the muscle cells uptake calcium to reset them into a "relaxed and ready" state.

By improving muscle tone there is a more efficient "muscle- pump" activity, where the contraction and relaxation of muscles pumps venous blood and lymphatic fluid around the body.

If there is too much tension in the muscles and connective tissues there will be a reduced ability to circulate blood and lymph (via the contraction and relaxation of the muscle). Proprioceptive feedback is also maximised for barefoot training such as yoga, pilates, weight training and any other mat-based exercise via the active base of support created by the contoured surface.

Delivery Times

Please note that your order will be processed within 24 hours from the first weekday (Mon-Fri). Whilst we endeavour to send your goods quickly, we do not guarantee overnight delivery. If goods are not in stock, you will be advised by either phone or email.

Orders over $100

All orders over $100 are now being shipped by eParcel where a signature will be required for delivery. Please keep this in mind when selecting an appropriate delivery address. A commercial location is preferred, but a residential address is also acceptable if the delivery can be received.

International Shipping

International shipping charges include insurance (unless the country does not offer this service). *Some larger items may have greater shipping charges for international customers. The summary page during checkout will give all totals (before payment).
