Push Knee Brace
Indications:
- Return to sporting activity following injury
- Non-ligamentous instability, eg. following a meniscus operation
- Patella problems resulting from other forms of knee injury
- ligamentous instability
It is important to be aware that PSB Knee braces provide support without actually strengthening the knee joint itself. A PSB Knee brace will never be able take over the functions of damaged knee ligaments!
Properties:A PSB Knee brace is a comfortable sport brace, which permits full bending of the knee. The sport brace also exerts pressure around the entire knee joint, making it feel more stable to the wearer. The sport brace contains a pad (stiffiner) that supports the patella thereby alleviating any possible additional patella problems.
The pressure around the knee joint is easily varied by adjusting the pale blue power net on the brace itself. A PSB Knee brace will not slip down. This is because of its good fit, the fastening tape around the calf and the silicon strips on the inside. Tactel® aquator on the inside ensures that perspiration is wicked away from the skin. As a consequence of the wicking function and its vapour permeability the PSB Knee brace always feels comfortable.

Advice on measuring for size:
PSB Knee braces are available in four sizes: Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large. There is no difference between right and left. In order to measure the correct size you need to measure round the lower leg, just under the knee, keeping the knee bent at an angle of 90 degrees. you can use a normal tape measure for measuring or a special PSB tape measure wich shows the sizes in different colours. The table shows the fitting range of the various sizes.
the following factors are important for correct measuring and fitting:- People with a fairly well-developed thigh compared to their lower leg measurements, should try on a size larger.
- If a knee measurment falls into the border area between two sizes, we recommend first trying the smaller size. The support effect of the brace is enhanced by a close fit.
- Before fitting ensure the elastic tape and the pale blue power net have been loosened. The power net must have been pulled down. The velcro fastenings on the sides of the power net are then clearly visible to the user.
- When the PSB Knee brace is put on, the pad must be positioned just under the patella. the knee brace is now prevented from moving upwards. In the beginning the close fit of the PSB knee brace can make it a little difficult to put on.
- The elastic tape just above the calf is now fastened.
- Subsequently the velcro fastening of the pale blue power net must be fastened to the upper edge of the brace. This is easiest if you take hold of the power net with two hands, one on either side. The power net can now be pulled up and fastened to the top edge of the brace.
- Finally the front of the power net must be fastened.
- Individual pressure can be varied by choosing different positions for the Velcro fastenings.
Pressure around the knee joint and thigh can be individually adjusted. This is done by seeking a different position for the small Velcro fastenings (on the poser net) or the large velcro fastenings on the sides of the brace. By positioning the small velcro fastenings higher or lower it is possible to apply more or less pressure respectively around the knee joint. By moving the velcro fastenings forward or backward it is possible to vary the pressure around the thigh.
Functioning can be impaired by wear of parts or at seams. In case of complaints always check to see if the PSB Knee brace is in good condition.
Tips for carePSB Knee braces are easy to care for and can be machine washed at a maximum of 40°C. Higher temperatures can damage the elastic materials. For the same reason it is inadvisable to tunble dry or dry on a radiator.
For the optimal care of the PSB Patella brace it is important that:- the sport brace is not left lying around wet
- the velcro is always fastened before washing.
- the sport brace is washed in the supplied washing net.
