mediBall Anti-Burst Technology

Approximately 2 years ago AOK Health, the manufacturers of the the mediBall, released mediBall Pro. mediBall Pro is manufactured from Duralon, a special material designed to withstand bursting if subjected to puncturing under load.

Since then the mediBall Pro, and other "anti-burst" balls, have been subject to rigorous testing at the University of Newcastle Materials Testing Laboratory.

Recent tests have shown the mediBall Pro withstands bursting if punctured when loaded with over 600kgs. It is the safest and strongest exercise ball on the market in Australia and the only one we would recommend being used in a commercial environment. mediBall Pro will support a static load of over 1000kg.

Prior to anti-burst technology being available, the only balls available were made out of PVC that didn't withstand bursting if punctured. The material was still extremely strong. The mediBall (not Pro) was tested at University of Newcastle Materials Testing Laboratory and a load rating in excess of 1000kg was verified. These balls, while being extremely strong, may burst suddenly if punctured while under load. For this reason, we would suggest that now a safer product is available, that the safest product should be provided in a commercial environment, where a ball may be subject to unusually high amounts of wear and tear.

We would suggest that in a commercial environment, even mediBall Pro should be replaced at least every 12 - 18 months, or even more frequently if evidence of rough handling can be seen on the balls surface. The balls should be cleaned and inspected regularly by your staff to ensure they are all in peak condition. Balls, like car tyres for example will deteriorate with use over time, and therefore should be replaced regularly.

Orders over $100

All orders over $100 are now being shipped by eParcel where a signature will be required for delivery. Please keep this in mind when selecting an appropriate delivery address. A commercial location is preferred, but a residential address is also acceptable if the delivery can be received.
