Tennis Elbow Support with Go-Strap™
Patented support strap releases the load from your forearm tendon
The GOSTRAP™ Tennis Elbow Supportis designed to carry the load of injured soft tissue. It is indicated for use in the treatment of tennis elbow (Epicondylitis).
The GOSTRAP™ Tennis Elbow Support for increased pain free ROM and vibration damping, now in stock in S, M, L. Innovative new Australian design getting rave reviews. Comfy and super effective, this design finally solves the problem of how to provide an anchor and tie support without the use of sticky, rigid sports tape.
NEW & Improved Model for 2008
- The new narrow section behind the elbow virtually eliminates "puckering" in this area when changing elbow angle.
- The slightly narrower and lighter forearm strap is more comfortable when used with the go-strap.
- New black colour
Why choose the Go-Strap™ Tennis Elbow Support?
- Innovative new design
- More comfortable and effective
- Adjustable support force
- Includes the patented vibration damping GO-STRAP™
The GOSTRAP™ Tennis Elbow Support includes a patented elastic GOSTRAP where a counterforce is provided in the exact opposite direction to the wrist extensor tensile forces. Rather than providing a counterforce indirectly via friction in immobilized tissue, this support is intended to provide a direct counterforce via an additional support strap. Consequently the "anchor" strap doesn't need to be as tight as usual and the support can be worn comfortably and effectively for long periods if required.
How the Go-Strap Tennis Elbow Support works
The circumferential strap acts as an "anchor". The elastic GOSTRAP acts as a "tie", and works in concert with the injured tendon, thereby carrying part of its load.
RESEARCH
The feasibility of detailed biomechanical analysis and mathematical modelling to determine the exact effectiveness of the claimed advantages are currently being investigated by three leading Australian Universities.
A recent biomechanics preliminary study at one Australian University found a significant reduction in muscle activity in the protected region compared to a normal counterforce brace. The reduction of peak loads was higher than the reduction of average loads, indicating a surge or vibration damping effect.
Clinical tests in a small trial group showed a further increase in pain free R. O. M. over that provided by the standard counterforce brace.
Feedback
"I have used the Gostrap Tennis Elbow Support to great effect in the management of my own elbow pain and would certainly recommend its use to my patients. The one clear advantage I see in its design is that it attaches more security to the limb providing greater support and stability particularly when using the arm." - Andrew Gallagher, Melbourne physiotherapist.
"Wow - instant pain relief!" - Josh Draper, baseball pitcher and cricketer.
Key Advantages of the GOSTRAP™ Forearm Support
- Simple and effective
- Comfortable
- Can be worn for long periods of time
- Allows relatively good joint movement
- Causes a low restriction to forearm muscle contraction
- Provides good support to damaged tissue in different joint positions
- Easily adjustable and controllable support force
- Easy to fit and remove
The simple but effective design provides firm support in a large range of elbow positions using the advantages of the proven "anchor" and "tie" approach. The support is comfortable and flexible, in contrast to the disadvantages of skin irritation and elbow restriction which are the main problems with rigid sports tape. The concept is so simple its amazing no-one thought of it before!
Determine Your Size
Nominate left or right. To select correct size measure around widest part of forearm.
| Size | Forearm circumference (mm) |
| Small | 200 to240mm |
| Medium | 240 to 280mm |
| Large | 280 to 330mm |
FITTING INSTRUCTIONS
- 1. Hold right forearm horizontal with elbow flexed about 45 degrees. Attach neoprene strap with a very light tension approx 5-7 cm below point of elbow, with elastic GO-STRAP hanging smoothly just above point of elbow (picture 1).
- 2. Stretch wide portion of elastic GO-STRAP firmly around upper arm to provide desired support force (picture 2).
- 3. Gradually reduce tension as you wrap the GO-STRAP around forearm (picture 3), and attach to velcro strip (picture 4). If aligned and fitted correctly the elastic should fit snugly on the arm.
Adjust the position and tension of both straps during use as required to optimise comfort and support Use a light tension during periods of inactivity, and a firmer tension during heavy activity.
