Metron Accusonic Plus Ultrasound Machine
1 & 3 MHz ULTRASOUND
The Metron Accusonic Plus therapeutic ultrasound machine offers 1 and 3 MHz from the one detatchable applicator.
Microprocessor technology has been used to make the Accusonic Plus compact and easy to use. This technology has allowed a numbger of useful features to be presented in the Accusonic
Plus:
- Up to 10 treatment programs can be stored in the Accusonic Plus, for quick and easy applications
- An LED bar graph is used to display the amount of ultrasound transmission occuring. This will assist the practitioner to monitor their own, or their staff's technique and correctly deliver the prescribed amount of ultrasound.
- The internal service software runs the calibration procedures, minimising the technicians involvement
- Contact sensing
| Ultrasound Output | |
| Frequency | 1.1 MHz +/- 10% |
| Output Intensity | 2.4 Watts/cm2 +/- 10% maximum continuous mode (Equivalent to 12 watts absolute for the 5 cm head) 1.5 Watts/cm2 +/- 10% maximum (Equivalent to 7.5 watts absolute for the 5 cm head) |
| Frequency | 3.3 MHz +/- 10% |
| Output Intensity | 3.0 Watts/cm2 +/- 10% maximum continuous mode (Equivalent to 3 watts absolute for the 1 cm head) |
| Effective Radiating Areas | 0.8 square cms +/- 20% 5.0 square cms +/- 20% |
| Beam Non-Uniformity Ratio | Normally 5:1 +/- 20% |
| Ultrasound Modulation | |
| Modulation modes | Continuous or pulsed |
| Pulsed Modulation | |
| Pulse Frequency | 100 MHz +/- 2% |
| Pulse period | 10 milliseconds +/- 2% |
| Pulse width | 1.0, 2.0, 5.0 milliseconds +/- 2% |
| Pulse duty cycle | 10% (1:9), 20% (1:4), 50% (1:1), +/- 2% |
| Treatment Timer | |
| Maximum treatment time | 30 minutes +/- 2% |
| At time expiration | time display shows zero and two seconds audible alarm sounds |
| Contact Control | |
| Contact Display | Displays the degree of contact being made with the patient by the treatment applicator. Loss of contact, which activates the contact control feature, occurs at approximately 25% of full scale |
| Function | To detect poor acoustic coupling between the treatment applicator and the patient. At detection of contact loss the indicator on the applicator illuminates red and after one second the treatment timer is halted, the treatment time display flashes and the ultrasonic output power is reduced. On contact detection the treatment timer is restarted and the ultrasonic output power is restored to the selected value. |
