Why use a Therapeutic Pillow?
Traditionally, pillows have been made from materials that may give a soft comfortable feel, but provide inadequate support for your neck whilst sleeping. Whilst the filling may initially be appealing and nice to rest upon, a lack of shape often results in poor and restless sleep, neck ache and even back pain. However, a therapeutic pillow uses material that is comfortable to sleep on whilst providing proper support in the most important place — your cervical region. As you lie down, there are spaces underneath your neck as your head and shoulders (or back) are the touching points. A standard pillow may leave this space unsupported which results in your spine being improperly aligned. Alternatively, a good therapeutic pillow will hold its shape and fill this gap, promoting a stright neck and spine, and good posture as you sleep. This is why therapeutic pillows are often firmer than standard non-supportive pillows.
